Patricia “Patty” Pickel Derryberry, 86, of Franklin, Tennessee, sadly passed away on July 27, 2025.
She was born on January 22, 1939, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late James Rees Pickel and Alzada Davenport Pickel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William M. Derryberry and her daughter, DeAnna Harper.
She is survived by her son, Rees (Brett); grandchildren, Jenna Frasier (Luke), Leah Derryberry, and Colin Harper (Molly); great-grandchildren; and a brother, James R. Pickel, Jr. (Haden).
Patty was described as someone that was always there for you. She was a great mother to her son and even went on as to take care of her grandchildren as if they were her own. She truly earned the loving name given to her by her grandchildren, “Pat Pat”. She was a listening ear for you if you needed to talk. No matter what it was, she was there to listen. She enjoyed reading and you could always bet on seeing her with a book in her hand as you walked in the room.
The family wants to extend a loving thanks to her two best friends, Ms. Libby Godbold and Ms. Caroline Holderfield.
We would also like to thank NHC at the Trace for the care that they provided Mrs. Patty and the family during this hard time.
All services are private at this time.
