Patricia J. Roberts

Patricia Jean Roberts (78), longtime resident of Oak Forest, IL, and Midlothian, IL (most recently of Bloomington, IL), died December 24, 2025, peacefully in her sleep. Patricia, known to her friends and family as Pat or Patty, was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Pat held undergraduate and graduate degrees and served for several years as an English teacher and professor. In her retirement, she took up new hobbies, such as golf and Mahjong, while also traveling with friends and her long-time husband, Dan.
Pat is survived by her three (3) children, Jennifer Godelwski (Steven) of Bloomington, IL; Gregory Roberts (Jennifer) of Tinley Park, IL; and Timothy Roberts (Mariko) of Morton Grove, IL; in addition to her seven (7) grandchildren, ranging in ages from 7 to 23. Pat is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Sippel (Norm); and brother, Phillip Joschko (Cathy). She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Roberts; her brother, Paul Joschko (Pat); and her parents, Estelle and Paul Joschko.
Pat had a smile that lit up a room and a heart big enough to envelop anyone's sadness. Her
passion for learning was infectious, as was her laughter. Pat's sense of family and community was strong, and all that she welcomed into her home were treated as extended family. She loved to read, do puzzles, and take road trips, looking at the scenery along the way. However, her true passion was her family, most notably her grandchildren and their activities.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Visitation from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Hickey Memorial Chapel, located at 4201 147th Street in Midlothian, IL 60445. Funeral Wednesday, December 31, 2025, 10:30 AM Prayer Service at Hickey Memorial Chapel going to St Christopher Church - St Augustine Parish, located at 4130 147th St. in Midlothian, IL 60445, for 11:00 AM Funeral Mass.
