Dear Nancy & family,
I'm so sorry I won't be able to attend the visitation for your precious Mother. I will always remember her laugh, wit, loving heart, and of course her earrings! She always brought so much light into those around her. I can't express how much Pat meant to me over the years. My heart goes out to you and your wonderful family.

Dear Nancy & family,
I'm so sorry I can't be at the visitation as you remember your precious Mom. I will always remember her loving heart, laugh, wit, and of course her earrings! She always brought so much light into those around her. I can't express how much she meant to me over the years. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family.

In 1958-9 my husband and I shared a duplex with the Rutters. They had just moved from St. Louis and were homesick for Illinois. Pat and I became good friends but lost touch when we moved back to Calhoun. She made the best Beef Stroganoff, I should have gotten her recipe. Nancy if you are anything like Pat you are a very special, loving, energetic, talented and sweet person. Prayers and sympathy.

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Pat at Park Regency while visiting my dad.
She was the sweetest lady. Had no idea of her age but I would have NEVER guessed she was in her 90's.

I knew Pat mostly through the stories told to me by daughter Nancy and son Chris. In person, it was evident that she was a "folk" philosopher, and she was always genteel and welcoming with such lines as "Liars are always movin'," and "You want eggs? I can make you some eggs." And there was her smile: large and quizzical with a touch of teasing. I am enriched for having known Mama Pat.

Pat was one of the sweetest and most genuinely affirming people I have ever met. She was like a second mother to John and me when we visited the Rutter home almost every day during our teenage years. She was always warm and welcoming and had a wonderful, self-effacing sense of humor. I always felt better when I was in her presence, and I will always remember the Rutter family with gratitude and with a smile.

So sorry, Nancy. She was truly a special lady. I loved her spunk and flare for fashion/earrings. I am so glad you two were so close and created so many wonderful memories. Blessings.
