Patricia Ann "Patt" (Fetter) Stewart, born on June 29, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home in Rogersville, Missouri, on August 17, 2025, at the age of 81.
A graduate of the Columbus Hospital School of Nursing, Patt dedicated 50 years of her life to the nursing profession. Patt started her nursing career in the emergency rooms at Menorah Medical Center then St. Joseph's Hospital in Kansas City, MO. After moving to Springfield, MO, she was hired at St. John's Hospital working in the emergency room, geriatric care and general med surgery. Inspired by the care she received while in the hospital giving birth to her youngest son, she moved to the St. John's OB floor, spending the last 25 years of her career devoted to the care of new mothers.
Her compassion and commitment to caring for others touched countless lives throughout her career. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession, as she was deeply devoted to her family and cherished the time spent with them.
Patt was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She shared 58 wonderful years with her devoted husband, Frank. Together, they raised four children: Patrick Stewart (Lisa), Jennifer Heman, Allison Boyer (Kevin), and Mark Stewart (Megan). Her family expanded to include ten cherished grandchildren: Shayne (Mallory), Lindsay (Baylor), Jared (Jordan), Kayla (Matt), Ethan (Chloe), Noah, Madelyn, Sylvie, Kinsley, and Gracyn as well as great-grandchildren: Maeve, Leaven, and Jamie. Patt is also survived by her brother, John Booth (Kathy) and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
A longtime fan of Kansas City Chiefs football, Patt's enthusiasm for the game was matched only by her love for her family. She found great joy in playing board games and completing puzzles with her grandchildren and attending their activities and sporting events, always cheering them on with pride and affection.
Patt was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and John Booth and her in laws Betty and Frank Stewart.
A Catholic funeral mass in celebration of Patt's life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Springfield, Missouri where Patt and Frank have been members since 1978. Fr. Fergus Monaghan and Msgr. Thomas Reidy will be officiating. Her family and friends will gather to honor a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to those she held dear. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Patt's memory to a charity of your choice, honoring her lifelong commitment to helping others.
