Patricia Y. Threats

Patricia Y. Threats, 68, of Cranston, RI went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Willie "Mibbit" Lee Threats.
Born in Pensacola, FL, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Ella Louise (Harris) Garlington.
Patricia Threats...Beloved Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Wife, Mother, Aunt, Grand Mother, Great-Grandmother and Friend.
A graduate of Rhode Island College School of Nursing, and University of Rhode Island's master's program in Community Health, she dedicated 51 years of compassionate care. She was employed at IMH (currently known as Eleanor Slator Hospital), several hospice facilities and Rhode Island Department of Corrections where she served as an Infectious Disease Specialist and dedicated over 25 years of service. Her care for her patients was matched by the love and generosity she showed her friends and family, as anyone who knows her can attest.
Patricia was a unique soul who was unapologetically herself. She was a selfless mother and grandmother who would do anything for her loved ones. Patricia, also known as "Pat" and "Tricia", was the life of the party, she loved to dance, sing a good Chaka Khan song, and eat a good meal.
Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family. She and her daughter would often travel together, going on excursions and exploring various parts of the world.
Patricia had a very beautiful and sassy spirit. Patricia was a strong, reliant woman, who's light never dimmed regardless of the circumstances. No matter the ups and downs, she always found the comedy of life. She will be missed by her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Tanisha Y. Simpson and her husband Shawn Simpson of Warwick; four Grand Children, Nysiah, Kavi, Denius and Raqwan; two Great-Grandchildren, Zy'ell and Persephone and four sisters, Marilyn A. Garlington, Sharon D. Garlington, Gail M. Garlington and Michele E. Garlington, all of Providence. She was a sister of the late Ella L. Nash of Chesapeake, VA, James W. Garlington and Michael J. Garlington, both of Providence.
Patricia leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Patricia's graveside Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. In lieu of flowers, planting a tree in Patricia's memory at: A Living Tribute
