Patricia “Trish” Jo Owen

Patricia "Trish" Owen (nee Mitchell) of Panama City Beach, FL was welcomed into the arms of Our Lord on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the age of 64, following a difficult journey with cancer.

Trish was born July 25, 1961 in McHenry, IL to Robert and Donna (nee Kapelke) Mitchell. Trish was an avid seamstress, she loved to put brush and paint to canvas and enjoyed a challenging jigsaw puzzle. Trish graduated from Wauconda High School with the Class of 1979 and stayed in close contact with many classmates; especially a very dear sisterhood of friends she had known since early childhood. They were together for each other during a lifetime of shared joys and tribulations. Trish was employed for many years by Ameren in Peoria, IL as a project estimator. She accepted an early retirement and moved back to her hometown area to help with care during her mother's long term illness. During that time she and brother Steve became the (former) founding co-owners of Midwest Breakfast Co which quickly became a landmark breakfast and lunch destination in Spring Grove, IL for nearly 12 years. She had a warm and welcoming manner that made customers feel at home and wanting to return often. Upon her official retirement, Trish packed her belongings and went in search of her destiny. Ironically, it was at Destiny Church near the soft white sands and crystal blue ocean of Panama City Beach, FL where she met William Owen. Both seeking a faith-based relationship they joined together in marriage on August 15, 2024.

Trish was predeceased by her mother, Donna Gritzuk and niece, Molly Mitchell.

Survivors include her loving parents and stepparents, Robert (Allyson) Mitchell and Michael Gritzuk, beloved husband, William Owen, her adored children, Joshua Fotsch, Krystal (Curt) Crecelius and Sam Norbom, and her precious grandchildren, Finn and Zoey Crecelius and her siblings Kim (Michael) Strepka and Steve (Julie) Mitchell, along with many much loved stepchildren, step grandchildren, relatives and friends. Last, but not least her faithful furry companion, Harrison.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am on October 25th with a Celebration of Life following at 11:00 am - both at The Chapel in Mundelein, IL.
