Obituary
Patricia J. (Perko) Tristano, age 68, of Barberton, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital.
Born in Dennison on July 24, 1954, Patricia was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Opal (Edie) Perko. She was a graduate of Indian Valley North High School and Kent State University. In 1978, she married Ronald A. Tristano, and while residing in Barberton (since 1984), together they raised three wonderful children: Ronald B., Evan (Kaylin), and Elizabeth (Zach Scanlon) Tristano. One of Patricia's greatest joys was watching her grandchildren Cecilia and Maxwell Tristano (children of Ronald B. Tristano and Heather Campbell) grow up.
In 1994, Patricia began work at Giant Eagle in Barberton. In addition to her selfless devotion to her family and her commitment to spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, she enjoyed being outdoors, especially visiting the Ohio State Parks. Patricia was also an avid reader and listener of classical music, and one of her favorite activities was attending performances of the Cleveland and Akron symphony orchestras.
Patricia also shared her husband Ron's passion for adaptive golf and increasing accessibility to the game for the differently abled and was an active participant in special events and fundraisers at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Challenge Golf. She was also guided by her strong faith and trust in God and lived her faith as an active member of St. Augustine Parish in Barberton.
Patricia is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren, siblings Rose Manbeck of Wainwright, Ann Miller of Stone Creek, Peggy (Herb) Long of Wisconsin, Lucy (Craig) Krieger of Wisconsin, Flo Spangler of Dover, Agnes (Mike) Nelson of Montana, Alice (Bill) Dowdle of Scio, and Dan (Pam) Perko of New Philadelphia, and brother-in-law Ernest J. (Sue) Tristano, sister-in-law Carol Perko, and many nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by siblings Sylvia Smitley and Joseph Perko, Jr., brothers-in-law Virgil Manbeck, Dan Smitley, Helon Miller, Rod Spangler, and Donald L. Tristano, and a nephew, Joseph Perko, III.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 14, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 6th St NW, Barberton. Interment will take place later at St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery in Dover, OH. Family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 PM at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 222 Norton Ave, Barberton.
