Patricia Ubben, 80, of Ackley, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Grand JiVante in Ackley. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Geneva United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.
Patricia Helen Ubben, age 80, died at Grand JiVante in Ackley, on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Services will be at the Geneva United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 10:30 a.m.
Patricia Kelly was born on March 17, 1944 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Bernice(Jacques)Kelly and Leonard Kelly of Popejoy Iowa. She attended school at Popejoy and later Alden when they consolidated together, graduating in 1962. She married George Zortman in 1966 and to this union their daughter was born. They later divorced and she married the love of her life Vernon Ubben to which they spent 20 wonderful married years.
Patricia worked for The Boyt luggage company in the 60's and later for many years until it closed. The real joys in her life were her family, especially her grandkids and great grand-daughter. She loved watching them grow and achieve each of their goals in life.
Patricia is survived by her daughter Desiree Johnson of Ackley, grandchildren Cameron Johnson of Waterloo, Jaden(Jeny Na)Johnson of Cedar Falls,Alexis(Sam Hewuse)Johnson of Iowa Falls and Will Johnson of Ackley. Great- Granddaughter Finley Hewuse of Iowa Falls.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Vern Ubben, parents Leonard and Bernice Kelly, sister Bev Spencer, brothers Marlyn Kelly and Dennis Kelly, sister-in-law Sharon Kelly and brothers-in-law Leonard Spencer and Steve White.
Special thank you to Care Initiatives Hospice in Cedar Falls for the loving care given to Mom. And thank you to the Grand JiVante staff for caring for her and watching over her the last year and a half.
