Patricia A. (Reardon) Underhill of
Haverhill, NH, passed away on February 11, 2026, at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH, at the age of 78. Pat was born in
Dover, NH, on April 27, 1947, to Lydia (Hanagan) and Herbert Reardon. Pat was raised on Echo Hill Farm in
Rollinsford, NH, and was a graduate of Dover High School and the University of NH. She was a 10-year 4-H member and went on to make a career in education through the NH and Wisconsin Extension Services. After graduating from UNH, Pat moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she spent several years before moving back to NH and becoming the 4-H Youth Development Agent in Belknap County. Upon moving back, Pat met her future husband, Hugh, at a Holstein sale in Vermont. Together, Pat and Hugh developed Dream & Amp; Do Holsteins in
Piermont, NH. They bred and developed an outstanding herd of registered Holsteins that achieved national recognition both in the show ring and by having their genetics exported to several countries. Over the years, they hosted visitors from 78 countries and 5 continents. It was during that time that they developed a working relationship with the Becket Family of Services by giving the students the opportunity to come to the farm to learn life skills, animal care, and the value of hard work. Both Pat and Hugh eventually became staff at Mount Prospect Academy, where Pat was the lead Animal Science and Consumer Science teacher, as well as the Farm Manager. Pat developed the herd of Miniature Herefords for the school that she was extremely proud of. The development of the Minis as well as the Holsteins were achievements that were a great sense of pride for her. Pat also continued her involvement with NH 4-H by serving as a 4-H leader and Superintendent of the beef show at North Haverhill Fair for several years. She was a member of the New Hampshire Holstein Club, serving as past President and a Board member for several years, the New England Holstein Association, and Holstein USA. Throughout the years, many students and 4-H members were given the opportunity to lease animals and participate in programs that would enhance their experiences with agriculture.
Pat was predeceased by her husband Hugh, her parents, and her brother Bradbury Reardon. She is survived by her sister Cynthia Putnam and husband William of
Piermont, NH, niece Carrie Putnam of Piermont, nephews Tim Putnam and wife Sarah of Piermont, and Daniel Putnam and wife Erin of East Wakefield, NH. She is also survived by grandnieces and nephews, Clara, Augusta, Callum, and Charlotte.
A memorial service will be held later this spring.
