When we are called to part, it gives us inward pain, but we will still be joined in heart and hope to meet again.
Patricia "Pat" A. Verhelst, age 73, of Sheboygan passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
She was born on February 2, 1949, in Sheboygan to the late Walter and Elsie (Schlegel) Meyer. She graduated from North High School in 1967. She was united in marriage to Thomas C. Klemme and together they had two daughters, Kelly and Tracy. On September 10, 1999, Pat was united in marriage to Philip Verhelst. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2010.
Pat enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, scrapbooking, sewing and dancing the night away. She was known for her exquisite cleaning skills and loved going on her annual trip to the pumpkin farm and Christmas cookie decorating with her grandchild.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Tracy (JJ) Walvoord and Kelly (Mike) Harms; grandchildren, Josie Duening, Tyler Walvoord, Tori Walvoord, Gena Harms and Jonah Harms; siblings, Robert (Gail) Meyer, Terry (Racel) Meyer and Carol Heinz; a brother-in-law, Willy Gill; sister-in-law, Peggy Meyer; her furbabies, Bosco and Skitto; nieces and nephews, Stephen (Margo) Meyer, Shaunanna Meyer, Tory Meyer, Nicole Meyer, Ashley Balde, Alisha (Jeremy) Niedziejko and Erin Heinz; and special friend, Edward Hovart.
Along with her parents and husband Phil, Pat was preceded in death by her siblings, Barbara Gill and Walter Meyer.
A Memorial Service for Pat will be held 4:00 PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N 8th St. in Sheboygan with Pastor Andy Hopp officiating. Family will greet visitors on Wednesday, at the funeral home, from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
A memorial fund has been established in Pat's name.
The family would like to thank the staff at both St. Luke's Medical Center and Sharon S. Richardson Community Care Center for the excellent care given to Pat.
