Patricia Jo "Patty" Wassem, daughter of Joe McCain and Opal Caviness McCain McKelvey was born October 18, 1935, in Lebanon, Missouri and entered her Heavenly home November 18, 2022, at the age of eighty-seven years, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
On February 14, 1953, she was united in marriage with Roger Wassem, Jr. and to this union two children were born, a son and a daughter.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-two years, Roger, who passed away on March 20, 2005; a sister, Abigail Miller; three sisters-in-law, Donna Wood and her husband Wayne, Mary Bratek and her husband Johnnie, and Joan Sullivan; one brother-in-law, Bud Hall.
Patty is survived by her son, Mike Wassem and his wife Sharon of Lebanon, MO; her daughter, Pam Jessip of Ozark, MO; two sisters-in-law, Jean Hall of Springfield, MO and Diane Burke and her husband Jim of Lebanon, MO; special care givers, her cousins, Janice Pogue and Sandra Churchill, along with Regional Hospice; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
She was a devoted homemaker and a wonderful cook. While the kids were young, she babysat in her home. In later years, she was employed by the H.D. Lee Company. She and Roger also managed the Get Away Arcade for many years. Most recently she worked in the deli at Gerbe's Supermarket, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Patty made a profession of faith at a young age and attended First Assembly of God in Lebanon until her health no longer allowed her to go.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
