It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patricia "Patsy" "Pat" (Livingood) Weir, age 91, on September 27, 2025.
She was born on December 8, 1933, in Grafton, ND to parents William Harrison "Harry" and Beatrice Veronica "Beezie" (Callahan) Livingood.
She grew up on the family farm two miles outside of St. Thomas, ND. She graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1951. She went on to graduate from Aakers Business School in Grand Forks, ND in 1952.
While working for the North Dakota Geological Survey, she met her husband-to-be, Robert "Bob" Weir on a train trip to Minneapolis, MN to attend a hockey game between the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. They were married on June 5, 1955, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, St. Thomas, ND. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Pat was a loving mother, grandmother and new great grandmother. Her family always came first and she was happiest when surrounded by them.
After Bob’s retirement, they provided loving and nurturing care to their grandchildren and also found time to spend a few Februarys in Bradenton, FL to enjoy beach walks and warm temperatures.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching her soap operas, All My Children and General Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; daughter, Debra (Jay) Lillge; son, David (Stephanie) Weir; grandchildren, Hannah (Ryan) Swope and Stephen (Breanna) Weir; and great granddaughters, Hadley Swope and Rylie Weir. She is further survived by 11 nieces and nephews, many great and great great nieces and nephews and several other extended family members.
Pat was the last remaining member of her immediate family, so she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd (Helene) Livingood, James (Virginia) Livingood and Lowell (May) (Alice) Livingood; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Regena (Elton Mattson) (William) Patton and Joy (Gerald) McDonald. She was also preceded in death by seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Church of the Resurrection, 621 N. 2nd Street, Wausau. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Patricia’s name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
