Patrick Bell Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 7, 2025.
Patrick "Pat" Michael Bell, age 71, of Deckerville, Michigan, passed away on October 30, 2025. Born on October 18, 1954. Pat was the beloved son of Patricia (Black) Bell and the late Bruce "Jerry" Bell.
A proud Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran, Pat carried a deep love for his country and a strong sense of duty throughout his life. He worked for General Motors for more than 30 years, dedicating himself to his craft with the same commitment he brought to every aspect of his life.
Above all, Pat was a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Stephanie (Bell) Hembree. He poured his heart into supporting her passions, even hand-stitching her skating costumes when she was young. Pat's quiet patience, creativity, and unwavering encouragement defined his role as a father, and later, as a cherished father-in-law to Ken and grandfather to Austin, Chase, and Theo, who were the joys of his life.
Pat had a big heart and a bold spirit. He found peace and exhilaration on the water and was incredibly proud to complete his first solo sailing journey through the channels of Florida. He loved sailing, the ocean, and anything that brought him closer to the rhythm of the waves. His interests were as vibrant as he was-classic rock, dancing, motorcycles, painting, and drawing were just a few of the passions that fueled his days.
Pat was deeply loved in the community of Port Sanilac, where he made countless friendships through his generous spirit and lively sense of humor. He played on the local dart league and was a proud advocate for veterans, as seen through his involvement in what was affectionately known as "Thursday Night Therapy," a local group offering camaraderie and support for fellow veterans.
Patrick will be deeply missed by his mother, Patricia Bell; his daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Kenneth Hembree; his grandchildren, Austin, Chase, and Theo Hembree; his siblings, Robert (Becky) Bell, Sherry (Jennifer) Bell-Watz, and Tim (Angie) Bell; his dear friends Dave and Jeanne Harper of Port Sanilac; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bruce "Jerry" Bell, and his brother, Jerry Bell.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be held outside at Port Sanilac Park, followed by a luncheon at Blue Water Sports Bar and Grill.
The immediate family will travel to Florida in the near future so that Pat may become one with the ocean, one of the greatest joys of his life here on earth.
Pat lived with strength, generosity, creativity, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of family devotion, adventure, and a spirit that will continue to shine in those who loved him.
