Patrick “Pat” Dale Cain age 57, of Noble County, OH passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. He was born September 11, 1968 in Cambridge, OH son of Donald “Don” Cain of Caldwell, OH and Irene Cain of Devola, OH.
He was a 1986 graduate of Caldwell High School where he was active in 4-H and FFA. Pat served and protected his nation for eight years as a proud United States Marine and finished his career serving 30 more years prior to his retirement as a technician in the United States Army. He was an Iraqi combat veteran. Pat was a member of the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641 and Caldwell VFW Post #4721. He served his local veterans for several years on the Noble County Veteran Service Commission. Pat was a hunter, avid fisherman, NASCAR follower, and huge Chicago Cubs fan. He was raised as a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Beatrice and Paul Cain.
Those left to cherish his memory in addition to his parents are his wife of 23 years Elizabeth A. Miihlbach Cain, whom he married June 29, 2002; children Ian (Erica) Cain of Georgia, Austin (Tammy) Cain of South Carolina, Amber (Andrew Crock) Holt of Caldwell, and Shannon (Cody Richards) Holt of Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren Lyrik, Layla, Killian, Callum, Raegan, Jude, and Aura; brothers Norman Dean (Shelly) Cain of Michigan, Jonathan (Angel) Cain of Caldwell, and Rob (B.J.) Cain of Arizona. He is also survived by three nieces, a nephew, and many friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 1:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday, December 15, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Catholic Blessing Service will be held Monday, December 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Father Thomas Nau serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery in Sharon, OH with military graveside honors conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
