Patrick L. Garrison, 86 of Hopatcong, NJ formerly of Wheeling, died Thursday, September 28, 2023.
Pat was born July 30, 1937, the only son of the late Glenn and Ella Garrison. He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Garrison, and his sisters, Sandra Butler, Judy Mercer, and Martha, Marilyn, and Ella Garrison. Pat attended both Wheeling and Central Catholic high schools and was very active in local sports as well as singing around the area before, and after, his time in the US Air Force. He relocated to New Jersey with his wife, the former Bonnie Kettler, also of Wheeling.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie, and their two daughters Melissa Jones (Michael) of Concord, NC and Stacey Egner (Ed) of Hopatcong, NJ and his son Patrick G. Garrison (Linda) of Chesapeake, VA, as well as seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Pat spent his free time collecting sports, music, and other timeless memorabilia and spent many years coaching football and basketball in Carlstadt and East Rutherford, NJ. He worked as a Purchasing and Procurement specialist until he retired in 2002.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 1 - 6 PM at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311).
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Alzheimer's Association in Pat's honor.
