Patrick Garrett Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 3, 2026.

Patrick Dennis "Pat" Garrett

Patrick Dennis Garrett was called home to the Lord on December 17, 2025 after a brief illness. Born on October 14, 1945, in Santa Monica, California, to Mae and Harrell Garrett, Pat was raised in Duncanville, Texas, alongside his sister, Nancy.

Pat attended the University of Texas, where he earned his degree in Pharmacy and met the love of his life, Carol Evalyn Kelley. They married in 1968 and embarked on a beautiful 57-year journey as each other's constant companions.

Pat and Carol raised their family in Nacogdoches, Texas, where Pat served as the Director of Pharmacy at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. In addition, Pat gave generously of his time to local civic organizations and was a constant, supportive presence in their children Aimee and John's lives-never missing a game, a performance, or an extracurricular activity.

In 1996, Pat and Carol moved to Austin, where he continued a fulfilling career in pharmacy with the Seton Health System until his retirement in 2019. Two years later, they settled in The Woodlands, Texas to be closer to their children and grandchildren. "Papa G" found great joy in participating in the lives of his grandchildren, Olivia, Chloe, Holly, and Benjamin.

Pat's memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Carol; his daughter Aimee Friend and her husband Trip, along with their daughters Olivia and Chloe; and his son John Garrett and his wife Trinity Garrett, along with their children Holly and Benjamin. He also leaves behind his sister Nancy Smith and her husband Neal Smit, as well as his nephew Dave Smith, niece, Lori Morgan and her husband Shawn Morgan, along with their children Channing and Charleston.

A memorial service for Pat will be held at 12 Noon on January 17, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 800 Houston Ave. Houston, Texas 77007. Visitation will start at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Luke's Health-The Woodlands Hospital Excellence Fund at www.supportstlukes.org/donate.

Carol: please accept my condolence and know I am keeping you in prayer during this difficult time for you and your family. My husband, Steven also lost his fight with stage four carcinoma this past November after seven weeks of hospitalization.
Would love a visit; however I am so happy that you are close to your children and grandchildren. My family and church family are my rocks just now.
Grace and peace, Linda Pybus Glover

Pat always supported me in my pharmacy endeavors. He was a wise man. I'll miss him, but know that he is with God now. R.I.P. Pat.

I am heartbroken by the loss of my dear friend and colleague, Patrick Garrett . One of the best and amazing people I´ve ever known-compassionate, hardworking, and always willing to support others. Pat´s friendship meant loyalty, encouragement, and genuine care. He made every workplace better and every friendship richer. The impact he had on my life and on so many others will never be forgotten. Pat you will be deeply missed but forever remembered. May you rest in peace, dear friend.
