We are so sorry to learn of the untimely passing of our long-time friend and colleague. He was a servant leader in medicine, a gifted teacher and a role model for youth and junior colleagues. He and I shared our birth year and month. I first met Patrick and Marcia in Boston when we both served as medical residents at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital. When I left for two years at NIH, he stayed on as a neurology resident. He was still in Boston when I returned as a cardiology fellow. We shared an interest in health disparities and kept in touch. He contributed a chapter on stroke to a book I edited. I was privileged to nominate him to become a member of Alpha Omega Alpha
honor society at Howard University College of Medicine and was happy he attended for the induction banquet. We exchanged emails and occasional calls in recent years. We pray that God will sustain and comfort all his family and friends in your bereavement.

Patrick, you took your High School competitiveness and high achieving into Neurology to make life better for all of us. You passed the baton on to so many. You were a role model, caring and helpful in health and sickness. His favourite sport being cricket, if a certain team does remarkably better we´ll know it´s due to his dobbying up above.
Deepest condolences to all your loved ones. You will be sorely missed.

It´s hard for me to accept our Patrick has left. My sadness cannot compare to that of his immediate family. Know I hurt so bad as I thought this kind of pain had ended for me. One good thing is, he´s with his loving God, in the arms of his mother and all her brothers & sisters. My deepest condolences and my continued love for him & all of you.

Patrick is my first cousin, however, we really only became acquainted in recent years. Our mutual cousin Beverly Sankar put us in touch, and we had the pleasure of a face-to-face meeting with Derek at our home in Barbados. At that time, Patrick was sharing his expertise with medical students as a visiting lecturer at St George´s University in Grenada. I offer sincere condolences to his family as they navigate this difficult period and deep sense of loss. We join in the celebration of a life well lived and God´s purpose accomplished.
Rest In Peace, Patrick.

Patrick was a fellow parishioner for nearly fifty years. I considered him a friend. He and his family embraced me and my husband when we came to the church seeking a church home. We later worked together on behalf of the church for many years. He was always easy to work with, a good listener with a humble demeanor. He was loved by everyone and will be missed.
