Patrick Heap

Patrick Heap, born November 6, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah, was known to all as a generous, humble, funny, and charismatic man. He was the rare kind of person who could turn an ordinary day into a memorable event, often with nothing more than a well-timed joke, a raised eyebrow, or a perfectly poured pint of beer from his treasured watering hole. Patrick was a man who knew how to enjoy life, and he did so with a style and flair that was uniquely his own. His charisma was so infectious that even his trusty vegetables in his garden seemed to grow taller when he was around.
Patrick was a man of many talents, among them being a pool shark, even with just one good eye, thanks to a rather unforgettable 4th of July mishap. In all of Tooele, no one could match his skills on the green felt, not even the two-eyed folks. He was also the proud owner of a pool hall in the '60s, a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and love for the game. To Patrick, the clack of billiard balls was the sweetest symphony, and the Eagles, Moose, and Elks lodges, as well as Reds bar, were his concert halls. He was a devout Catholic and didn't miss a Sunday at church. As the Good Book says, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." (Colossians 3:23)
Patrick was devoted to his family, especially his sons, Rick and Sean, who survive him, along with their wives Liz and Joan, respectively. He is also survived by his brother Arnold; his ex-wife Leila, with whom he shared a cherished bond; his grandchildren Brad, Brian (Miriah), Briley, Mason, and Jake and his great-grandchildren Aidan and Aurora. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Jennie Heap, brothers, Alan and John, and his partner Shirley Christensen.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Patrick's life on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, with a viewing at 10:00-10:30am, Rosary from 10:30-11:00am, and Funeral Mass at 11:00am, at St. Marguerite Catholic Church, 15 South 7th Street, Tooele, Utah. A luncheon will be held for family and friends at the Eagles at 2pm.
