Darin Wayne Nelson

It is with heavy hearts and warm memories that we announce the passing of our beloved friend, family member, and cherished co-worker, Darin Wayne Nelson. Though gone from our sight, his laughter and memory will forever remain in our hearts, and the legacy he leaves will live on in our lives.

Born February 1, 1972, in Lancaster, California to Debra Lee Smith and Larry Wayne Nelson, Darin touched the lives of those around him from the moment he was born with his uniqueness, humor, passion, generosity, sense of adventure, and unwavering spirit. A resident of Tooele, Utah, Darin was known for his dedication to family, friends, career, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. However, at the end of his life, he put his dedication to God first which further deepened the rest of his relationships.

Darin painstakingly built a successful career in commercial construction, earning the respect of his superiors, colleagues, and peers alike. Darin's commitment to excellence and passion for his work left a lasting impact on everyone around him.

Darin had a profound love for nature and the outdoors. It was there that he found peace while camping and fishing...especially fishing! Taking off on adventures in his trailer with his wife, fishing poles, and his beloved dogs/ "piteranians," Dottie and Foxy, was a favorite hobby and pastime that he enjoyed as often as possible.

Darin was a one-of-a-kind son, grandson, husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle, nephew, grandparent, and human being. He is survived by his mother, Debra, wife Rebecca, as well as eleven children and stepchildren: Ariana, Briana, Cierra, Dakota, Devin, Drisana, Danika, Derrick, Dustin, Damara, and Darian. He is also survived by his siblings Shane and Misty, his aunts and uncle, Norma, Ramona, Joann, Robert, Sandy, Lisa, and Lana, as well as his maternal grandfather Jim, and many other cousins and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his Father Larry, Stepfather Lonnie, maternal grandmother Mary, and paternal grandparents Gail, Bill, and Don. Darins's devotion to family was a deep driving force in his life. His life and love will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

We will miss our Darin dearly, but we take comfort in knowing that we will see him again, and that his spirit continues to bless us through the memories shared and the lives he touched. May he rest in the peace he has earned through a life well lived. Until we meet again.

A memorial service will be held at 11 O'clock a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at New Life Christian Fellowship, 411 E Utah Ave., Tooele, Utah.
