It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick Hennessy, who left this world on May 7, 2023. Born on July 1, 1950 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to parents, Dr James Donald and Virginia June Hennessy.

Patrick received his degree in Theatre at NW Missouri State, then continued and received his Masters at the University of Colorado in Ft Collins. He continued his schooling in The London School of Theatre Arts.
Patrick did Summer Stock theatre for several summers in Cripple Creek, Colorado, and had some small parts in a few films when he lived in Los Angeles, one of which was The Red Badge of Courage. Patrick was also a song writer and was able to play and sing at the infamous Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville. He became an award winning Christian Talk Radio Producer, both in Nashville, TN, and Los Angeles, CA. where he worked at Salem's flagship station. He was kind and compassionate, always willing to pray for those in need.Patrick never met a stranger. He had been sober for over 35 years and told his salvation story every chance he got.
Patrick is survived by his loving siblings, June Wilson, Arlington, TX, Laurel Hennessy, Tigard, Oregon, Michael Hennessy, New Milford, Connecticut, Brian Hennessy, Mount Pleasant, TX. and Karen McCrary, with whom he lived for 11 years in Grand Prairie, TX, He was also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Patrick was preceded in death by both parents and siblings, Lynne Anne Patterson, and James Donald Hennessy Jr.
A Celebration of Life for Patrick will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 10:00 am at Gateway Church Grand Prairie Campus. This gathering will allow family, friends, and loved ones to come together and honor Patrick's memory, share stories and reflections, and celebrate the extraordinary life he led.
The loss of Patrick Hennessy is a reminder of the importance of cherishing the moments we have with those we love. Patrick spent 72 years bringing joy and laughter to those around him, and his absence will be keenly felt by all who knew and loved him.
