Pedro is survived by his wife of 45 years; Alma Cantu, children; Cindy Lucero Alavez Cantu and husband Timothy Sean Thornton, Tania Alejandra Alavez Cantu and husband Devin Montemayor, grandson; Pedro Alejandro Alavez Cantu, granddaughter; Aria Montemayor, mother; Martha Landa, siblings; Martha Cecilia Alavez Gonzalez, Rosa Margarita Orozco Gonzalez and Miriam Edith Orozco Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his father Pedro J. Alavez and his son Pedro Eduwigis Alavez Cantu.
