Patrick W. Kirchhofer, 60, son of Norman and Naomi Kirchhofer, passed into the arms of his beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 11, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St Louis, MO.
Patrick was born on November 10, 1964 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway and dearly loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Patrick graduated from Beecher City High School in 1983, Lake Land College in 1985, and the University of Illinois in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. Patrick enjoyed competing in sports, participating in baseball and basketball in high school, and softball well into his adult years.
Patrick spent almost his entire working career at the Illinois Farm Bureau, working in several counties before settling in as Peoria County Farm Manager for the last 29 years.
Patrick loved the farm, especially preserving the natural environment and habitat. He was continually planting, mulching, and caring for trees, bushes, and native wildflowers to protect the land and soil. Patrick found great enjoyment in collecting and restoring old toy tractors, trucks, and other farm equipment.
Patrick is survived by his mother, Naomi of Shumway; siblings, Stan, Darwin (wife Linda), and Joy Ealy, all of Shumway. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman in November of 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway, IL. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Shumway. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at the church. Services are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.
Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com.
