Patrick H. Lambert, 64, passed away unexpectedly in his home in the early morning on Friday, January 2, 2026. Born in Hartford on April 12, 1961, he was the son of the late Timothy Lambert and Judith Ann (Callahan) Hart. Patrick grew up in Granby, graduating from Granby High School in 1979, and spent the last 37 years of his life as a resident of Windsor Locks.
Patrick built a long and successful career as a project manager in the window industry. He was deeply passionate and proud of the work he completed. If you were lucky enough to be in the car with him near a jobsite, he would inevitably suggest a "shortcut" to show off a past project. These shortcuts were never short, and neither were the stories of the pranks the guys played on each other, but the pride and smile on his face always made the long way home worth it.
While Patrick was proud of building a successful career in the window industry, he lived for the moments after the clock hit five. A man of many passions, he was just as likely to be found tinkering with his boat as he was "calling shots" at the pool table. He was deeply proud of his collection of trophies from the pool hall- testaments to a game he loved and played well.
When he wasn't competing, Patrick was happiest on the water. He loved trolling around the lake on his boat, especially on Opening Day, and was a master storyteller when it came to "the one that got away." This love for the shore began in childhood, camping in Rhode Island with his family. He took great pride in passing that love down to his own children, spending summer after summer at the campground. He thrived in the community of a seasonal site: the competition of horseshoes and softball, the energy of loud live music, and the glow of a late-night campfire surrounded by family.
Patrick was a constant, active presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He found immense joy in the "little things"-meticulously crafting the perfect Pinewood Derby car, coaching sports teams, or preparing elaborate arts and crafts projects. He would spend hours cutting wooden pieces for birdhouses and giant Easter bunnies, or foraging in the woods to find the perfect materials for Christmas wreaths. He was his grandchildren's biggest fan, never missing a chance to cheer at a game or watch a lead role in a school play.
At home, he found great companionship in Denise's dog, Bella. As his constant sidekick, Patrick playfully insisted that Bella loved him best, a claim proven every time she refused to leave his side while he was around.
A man of hearty appetites, Patrick loved cooking up delicious meals and debating how to perfect them next time, but his true hunger was for the company of those he loved. Whether it was a formal dinner or a backyard bash, he was the life of the party. With natural charisma and a perfectly timed (and occasionally inappropriate) joke, he lived to see people laugh.
In keeping with his character, Patrick pulled the ultimate "Irish Goodbye" on Friday. Just like at the family parties he loved, he slipped out the back when no one was looking, leaving us all with a lifetime of stories and a few jokes we probably shouldn't repeat.
He is survived by his partner of 23 years, Denise Frey of Enfield; his four beloved children, Kevin Lambert and his partner Shalyn Chamberland of Windsor Locks, Sara Hart of Windsor Locks, Brian Lambert and his wife Mirannda of Windsor Locks, Rebecca Lambert and her partner Casey Glover of Windsor Locks. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren: Delilah, Jacob, Aisley, Silas, Rosabelle, Wyatt, Theodore, Harper, Wrynleigh, and Caelum.
He is further survived by his siblings, Kathy Voskowsky and her husband Ed of Granby, Timothy Lambert and his wife Robin of New Lebanon, NY, Bonnie Lambert and her husband David of the Cayman Islands, Michael Lambert and his wife Kris of West Suffield, and his step-sister, Heather Kotil and her husband Chad. Patrick was predeceased by his parents and his stepfather, Ron Hart.
