Patrick Lasco Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Giancola Funeral & Cremation on Jul. 7, 2025.
Patrick "Pat' Lasco
Beloved husband of the late Arlene Jane nee Vaughn. Loving father of Michael (Tami), Kari (Wence "Vots") Kedzior and the late Carl. Cherished grandfather of Briana, Michael (Tasha), and Sara Lasco, Maia, Anthony and Gianna Kedzior. Great grandfather of Isabella and Braxton. Brother of Mary Jean Giannelli and Virginia Drews. Dearest friend of Nancy Newell.
Patrick Carl Lasco graduated from St. Patrick's High School and went to study accounting at Wright Junior College, where he met the love of his life, Arlene. After starting his career at St. Jude's, Patrick felt the called to serve his community and became a firefighter. Known for his warm heart and playful spirit, he often dressed as a clown in parades and at special events, spreading laughter wherever he went.
Inspired by Arlene's path as a hairdresser, Patrick developed a shared passion for the field. together they opened Mr. Patrick's Coiffures in Westchester, a beloved salon they proudly owned and operated for many years. Later Patrick transitioned into real estate, a career he pursued for the remainder of his professional life with the same dedication and enthusiasm he brought to everything he did.
A true golf enthusiast, Patrick established a duel residency in Fort Myers, Florida, at the Forest Country Club, where he could play golf year- round. He was especially proud of achieving two hole-in ones during his time on the course. It was in Florida where he met Nancy Newell, and together they spent 12 fun-filled years enjoying life---dining, golfing and vacationing. He also made his home in Oak Brook, Illinois, but his heart belonged to the family lake house, where weekends were filled with boating, fishing and cherished time with his loved ones.
Patrick had a life long passion for recipe crafting and fine dining, always eager to experiment in the kitchen and share meals with family and friends. In his later years, he became known for his endless trove of jokes----often delivered whether you had time for them or not. His larger-than-life personality filled every room, and he left a lasting impression on everyone he met, no matter how brief the encounter. Patrick Carl Lasco will be remembered for his humor, his generosity, and the immense love he had for his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His spirit lives on in the joy he brought to others and the many lives he touched.

Pat Lasco will forever be remembered as a very dear friend, and, the Godfather of my career in hairdressing. I cherish the exposure he shared with me to show me the way to embrace the Cosmetology Industry as a lifeline, and, foundational experience for creating that next level of my career toward fulfillment. My parents, Laddie, and, Lorraine Vanek, introduced me to Pat Lasco, when they noticed I had a yearning to become a hairdresser, because I would not stop playing with my hair in front of a mirror. Hairdresser was the term at the time. My mom, Lorraine, was one of Pat´s loyal customers, at Mr. Patrick´s Coiffure´s in Westchester, on 22nd Street, for years, and, then, she followed him to the location on Mannheim Road, across from George´s Service Station, and, became a receptionist at the salon over time. I started working as an apprentice at the age of 12, in March of 1974. And, I gradually worked my way into a part time job as a shampoo girl. Those were the days! Pat´s presence, (always, Mister Patrick, to me), served, as a homey, fun, and, full of life personality, even when he was serious. He reminded me, that the second I walked out onto the floor, in the salon, I needed to be on point, and, professional!!! I learned, over time, that it was second nature all around, between home, and, the salon. I will carry that with me the rest of my life!!!
I remember Pat´s Clown costumes. And, more recently I shared several old photographs from the salon, with Pat, that I found in some old photo albums. One of the pictures was Pat in a clown costume, from Halloween while he was working behind the chair at the salon. * When he saw the pictures, he was so awed, because he doesn´t recall ever seeing any pictures of the salon, and, he loved it! So grateful to give him a laugh!! The last time I saw Pat, we were able to pick up right where we left off in our conversation, from back when. We reconnected again about 2 years ago. He was so full of life, and, couldn´t wait to tell me the latest joke he heard. I could write a book. It´s been 50 plus years! Thank you Pat Lasco!
In love, and, prayer to the Patrick Lasco family!

One of my fondest memories as a child is when Pat & Arlene asked me to join them on a family vacation. It was something I never experienced with my family, so it was truly exciting for me. It was so special to me I remember it like it was yesterday....every day of it, and it was almost 60 years ago.
Thank you Pat and Arlene for your generosity and kindness, and for a beautiful childhood memory that I will forever cherish. May you rest in peace.
