EAST FISHKILL - Our dearly loved father, father-in-law, and grandfather, Patrick P. Magnarella, III, fondly known as Pat, Mr. Mags, Pop, and FaFa, passed away at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY on Friday, November 1, 2024. He was 86 years old.
Son of the late Pasquale and Marion (Ligammari) Magnarella, he was born in Millbrook, NY on August 23rd, 1938. He graduated from Arlington High School, and has lived in Hopewell Junction since 1965.
He married Anna Joan (Rinaldi) Magnarella (affectionately known as MeMe) almost 65 years ago. She predeceased him six months earlier, in April.
He devoted his career to IBM, where he worked for 35 years as an engineer until his retirement in 1991. When he wasn't working, he was spending time with family and friends. For 20 years, he coached little league baseball for the Town of East Fishkill and many of those kids, sixty years later, still reminisce about those times, as some of the best of their lives. Patrick was also an avid outdoorsman. A lifelong member and past president of the Whortekill Rod and Gun Club, he was hunting, fishing and participating in Club activities at every opportunity. He also loved playing golf with his sons and friends.
Aside from his wife, Patrick is also survived by his son Paul & his wife Lisa Magnarella of Poughkeepsie, NY; his son Patrick & his wife Christine Magnarella of Cardiff by the Sea, CA; his granddaughters Sarah & Pamela Magnarella, and Pamela's husband Lance Magnarella.
Patrick was predeceased by his sisters Annette Magnarella Bedell and Alice Magnarella Dandeneau.
Calling Hours will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6th at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Rte 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. A service will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Graveside service is private.

My Uncle was my grandparents youngest child. Alice was the oldest and I was the Magnarella family´s first grandchild. I spent most of my childhood growing up in my grandparents home with my Aunt Annette, who I called Big and my Uncle Pat, who we all would go on to call Do Do.
My fondest memory of Do Do was playtime. I always asked him to let me stand on his feet and he´d dance around the living room with me.
I loved him and I will miss him, as well as my grandparents, Big, and my mother Alice. Rest in Peace Doo Doo.
