Patrick McCabe (Pat) passed away just after noon Thursday August 14th while under the care of Tidewell Hospice in Bradenton, FL.

Pat is predeceased by his wife of 66 years Mary Ann McCabe (O'branovich), his brother Michael and his sister Mary (Sham). Pat and Mary Ann were married in Pittsburgh, PA on September 25, 1954. They are survived by three sons and their wives, Patrick, William (wife Diane), and Edward (wife Barbara) as well as four grandchildren, Patrick's son Michael, and Edward and Barbara's sons Edward, James and Michael.

Pat was born in Chicago, IL in 1932 and his family moved to Pittsburgh, PA shortly after. He graduated high school and joined the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean conflict. After his discharge, he joined the McCandless township police force as a motorcycle officer and rose to the rank of Chief of Police where he received many commendations and served as president of several police organizations. Shortly after his retirement, he and Mary Ann moved to Bradenton, FL in 1990 to enjoy retirement.

Per his wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bradenton as well as a memorial service in Pittsburgh. Dates and times are not yet scheduled. He will be inurned at All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery in his hometown of Pittsburgh.

For those who would have wished to send flowers, you are encouraged to make a memorial donation to the charity of your choice in his honor.
