Patrick Francis McCarthy

Patrick McCarthy, 54, of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, passed away on October 25th, 2025. Born on March 5th, 1971 in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, he was a devoted husband to Maria McCarthy and a loving father to Nicolette, Joseph and Patch McCarthy.
Patrick met Maria in March of 1989 while they were both attending Lyndhurst High School. They married on November 16, 1996, and shared 28 years together as husband and wife. A hardworking man, he spent years of his life working as the owner of Atlantic Irrigation in Montclair, New Jersey where he was known for being dedicated and kind towards his customers. Despite his work responsibilities, he always made time for his family and passions.
Patrick's hobbies defined who he was. You would always find him spending time in his kitchen cooking for Sunday family dinners, watching his children's sporting events as both athletes and coaches, having a cigar in the backyard next to his favorite fire-pit, taking a trip to NYC to see a Phish concert, and religiously going on date nights with Maria. His love for enjoying life with his loved ones was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on us that will never fade.
He is survived by his wife, Maria McCarthy, his daughter Nicolette McCarthy and soon to be son-in-law Nicolas Nardachone, his son Joseph McCarthy and his girlfriend Dominique Long, and his son Patch McCarthy and his girlfriend Alyssa Faziola, as well as many friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, Oct. 28th from 4-9 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 29th at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, N. Arlington.
