LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER, AND BROTHER
Patrick F. Mirto, age 94, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024. He was the husband of the late Mary (Rosolillo) Mirto.
Born on June 20, 1930, in Waterbury, Patrick was the son of the late Peter and Theresa Mirto. He was a graduate of Leavenworth High School and attended Cheshire Academy. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean War. He worked as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for over 35 years.
He enjoyed playing baseball, softball, and bowling. He was an excellent golfer and had two career "holes in one." He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and of UCONN Basketball and was a Super Fan of Boston College sports, from where his granddaughter Stephanie graduated. Always one to challenge himself, Patrick never missed a day of the daily crossword or jumble puzzles.
Patrick is survived by his daughter Susan DeCarlo and her husband Gary of Prospect; his grandchildren Stephanie Kelley and her husband Bryce, Keith Miller, Jr., Michael Kovaleski, and Alyssa Kovaleski; and his great-grandchildren June and Bliss. In addition to Mary, his beloved wife of 59 years, Patrick was predeceased by his daughters Nancy Mirto and Patricia Mirto Kovaleski and his sisters Ann Parent and Mary Fusco.

December 16, 2024

My father and Patrick's mother were brother and sister so we are first degree cousins. I am sorry to hear of his passing and have let my brother, John Vecchione and my sister, Joan Andersen know of his passing. I am requesting a special Mass enrollment for him from the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement. May he rest in peace.
