Biography: The Rev. Dr. Patrick Murray, age 90, passed away on July 5, 2024, in Little Rock. He was the son of the late Judge Woody Murray and Clara Hubbard Murray of Harrison. He is survived by daughter Kristen, son-in-law Nicholas, and grandsons Augustine and Elijah, of Hong Kong; son Gregory, daughter-in-law Sarah, and grandchildren Isaac, Samuel, and Eleanor, of Princeton, New Jersey; and daughter Erin, of Memphis. His wife, Jane Deal Murray, died in 2001.
Dr. Murray received the B.A. degree from Baylor University, where he graduated at the head of his class. He was also a graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and held a Ph.D. in theology from Duke University. He taught philosophy and religion at UCA for ten years, prior to entering the Episcopal priesthood in 1978. He served parishes in Russellville and Jonesboro for twenty-two years. After retiring, he taught philosophy and religion at UALR for six years.
Dr. Murray served on the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Christian Education Committee, and the Commission on Ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Arkansas. He was a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences and authored the book Living Beyond Your Losses, as well as numerous articles and reviews.
Funeral services will be at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 20900 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024. Interment will follow immediately at St. Margaret's columbarium, with a reception in St. Margaret's parish hall. Memorials may be given to St. Margaret's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund or Heifer International. Arrangements are under the direction of RuebelFuneralHome.com

Patrick was a great teacher and a selfless person, always thinking about others and offering help if needed. He was a wise and welcoming person whom I had the pleasure of knowing for many years at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Little Rock.
