Patrick (Paddy) Peter Nugent, 92 of Bellerose, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday April 3, 2025. He was born on June 29, 1932 in Clonmel, Tipperary, Ireland. He came to the United States in 1956 where he also met his beloved wife Bridget (Bridie) (nee Lydon). Paddy is predeceased by his wife Bridget (2024) and son David (2008). Loving father of Patrick J. (Jessica), Maureen (Robert), Peggy (Dan). Cherished grandfather of Noelle, Brenna, Kaeli, Andrew, Russell, Patrick and Ronan. Also, predeceased by sisters Mary, Breda & Peggy and brothers Joseph & Tommy. He is remembered by his brothers David & Mickey, sisters Kitty & Ester and his many nieces & nephews.
Paddy was on the Waterford Hurling Team of New York and was an avid sports fan. He worked for over 30 years at Dairylea Milk Company. He enjoyed a good card game of "25" on Friday evenings and would often host games at their home. We often considered him the dog whisper with his two favorite companions Buster and Ginger.
He loved spending time with his family and had a warm welcome for everyone that came to their home. He was a man of few words, sometimes misunderstood but had such a kind and caring heart underneath. He never shied away from speaking his mind and never held onto anything. He was very devoted to his Catholic faith and was a regular at St. Gregory the Great. He would often return to Ireland to spend time with family and close friends and made his last trip at the age of 86. He had a special way of showing his love and devotion and would do anything to help others.
