Josephine C. King

It is with great sadness that the family of Josephine King announces her sudden passing on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the age of 89. Josie was born in Oak Bluffs, MA, the daughter of two Irish immigrants Anne Mannion and Thomas King. She was the oldest of eight children and was devoted to her family. Brothers John and Michael, sisters Marge and Elaine. Predeceased by brothers Joe, Harry, and Bobby. Josie was the epitome of hard work, dedication, love, and sacrifice. She advocated for all she met. She lived her entire life in New York City; she loved the hustle and bustle and action. Josie was a people person and just had the ability to light up a room. She was way ahead of her time. The person in front of her was her focus. Their race, color or religion didn't matter. Josie had three loves of her life and was predeceased by all 3, Bill Cody, Joe Swierczynski, and Brian McElwain. Josie has one daughter JoAnne Cody Molinelli who she sacrificed everything for, her son-in-law Joe who was like a son to her. Josie has two grandsons, Joseph and Michael, who meant the world to her. She loved her extended family and took great joy when she saw them. Sister-in-law: Maureen. Nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Carolyn, Luke, Damian, Kristen, Joe, Gaudy, Mike, Brad, Brian, and Charlotte. Great nieces and nephews: Dylan, Ayden, Mia, Hudson, Hayden, Kai, Fiona, Eleanor, Vivian, and Logan. Josie wanted a cabaret for her 90th birthday in Manhattan, it will have to be in heaven. Colorful, full of life, so the world will be a little less bright without her. We should all remember the good times and her stories, which most people would think fiction, but we know otherwise.
