Patrick S. Quastad

A time for remembering and celebrating the life of Patrick S. Quastad, 36, of Fairmont, MN, will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, MN. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Patrick passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-St. Mary's Campus in Rochester, MN. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Patrick Salem Quastad was born on May 16, 1988, in Iowa City, IA, the son of Murray Quastad and Beth Busch. He attended school Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 2006.
Patrick worked for many years at KFC in Fairmont and following its closing, he began working at REM where he continued to work.
Patrick battled many illnesses throughout his young life, but never let his health define him. Family was incredibly important to Patrick, and he loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and was looking forward to days spent in the sun at the pool with them. He was a gifted artist, creating beautiful drawings that he shared with those closest to him. Patrick also had a sweet tooth and was known for his "candy salad", a mixture of all of his favorite sugar candies. He will be greatly missed by those that loved him and called him a friend.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother and step-father, Beth (Roger) Kain; sister, Megan (Greg) Aust and their children, Berkley and Lincoln; and brother, Ben (Brooke) Kain and their children, Georgia and Walker; grandmother, Phyllis Busch; aunt, Roxanne (Jerry) Richardson; cousins, Jon Richardson, Danielle Richardson, and Crystal Dahl; all of the Roger Kain Family; special friends, Mel Schaal and Christi Redenius; as well as many other aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.
Patrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Max and Norma Jean Quastad and LeRoy Busch; cousin, Jeremy Richardson; as well as many other special family members.
