Patrick "Pat" William Schoen, 71, born in New Orleans and a resident of Chauvin, LA passed peacefully at home of Mantle Cell Lymphoma on Thursday, October 9th. A loving husband, devoted father, and avid Saints fan, Pat was a loyal friend to many, and always talked to everyone.
The son of the owner of Bob's Pizza Palace in Houma, Pat was employed over 40 years with Gilbarco, where he invented and patented systems used across the petroleum industry. Upon retirement in January of 2019, he enjoyed taking the motor home to campgrounds to relax and socialize with friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation taking place at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma on Tuesday, October 14th, from 5:00 until 8:00pm, and on Wednesday morning, October 15th from 9:30 until 11:30am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30am, with internment immediately following at St. Joseph Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Maxine Theriot Schoen; son Kenneth Schoen (Elizabeth), two daughters Amy DeClouet (Mike), Lynsay Mazera (Ali); siblings Peggy Dicks (Jim), Evelyn Schrems (Paul), Maureen Davenport (Chuck), Robert Schoen, Jr. (Paula) & Michael Schoen (Patricia); step daughters Sabrina Trosclair (Richard), Wendy Welch (Jamie); brothers-in-law Brent (Jeannie), Craig (Tammy), & Darrel Theriot (Mona); and mother-in-law Lois Theriot, as well as many grand and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and beloved dog Maddie.
Pat was preceded in death by his father Robert, mother Pauline La Verne Gallagher, and in-laws Sidney, Dean (Susan), Brenda, & Marty Theriot.
