Patrick Dennis Waggoner of Plainville, passed away on December 4, 2025 at his home. He was born on September 12, 1953, to Loren “Sam” and Glenadine (Wells) Waggoner in Russell, Kansas. He married Barbara Becker on December 29, 1973 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville.
Pat grew up in Plainville and graduated from Plainville High School in 1971. He spent most of his career in the Kansas oil patch, working in numerous positions over the years. He proudly spent several years running rigs for Red Tiger Drilling, alongside his father and both brothers. Later in life he was courier for Quest Diagnostics, where he retired in 2019. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He was a dedicated Royals and Chiefs fan and enjoyed attending games with his family in Kansas City.
Pat is survived by his wife, Barbara of Plainville; sons, Brett (Sara) Waggoner, Kansas City, Missouri, Blake (Mindy Workman) Waggoner of Plainville, Brian (Jennifer) Waggoner of Pace, Florida; brothers, Mike (Sharon) Waggoner of Hays, Steve Waggoner of Wichita; sister, Kim Knouf (Curtis Patterson) of rural Plainville; 7 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and one more on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Bill Becker.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainville. Inurnment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Following the inurnment, a lunch will be provided at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 11 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home in Plainville.
