Patrick Willcutt Obituary

Obituary of Patrick L. Willcutt
Patrick L. Willcutt, 59, died at HCMC in Minneapolis, MN on November 11, 2022. Born March 1, 1963, he is preceded in death by parents Clarence & Mary Willcutt, brother Clarence "Clancy" (Barbara), and survived by wife Greer, siblings Frances (Thomas Stadelman) and Michael (Wendy), and his daughter, Katy Jayne, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Patrick was a gifted chef of almost 40 years, avid cyclist, hobbyist, tinkerer, beloved father, brother, and uncle. He was a teacher, guide, and a friend, whether on a Minnesota River bike-ride, weightlifting in the summers, showing how to make salad dressing from scratch, helping would-be writers in the family avoid literary tropes, or how to weed a garden. A prolific reader and life-long learner, his interests ranged from science fiction to repair guides to mysteries, and he loved a good tale.
Patrick attended several schools, took adventures all over North America, and was appreciated for his great stories, be they about hiking through Alaska as a teenager or navigating across four languages in a busy commercial kitchen. For much of his life he was always piling on work, be it managing one busy restaurant after the next, restoring a trailer, or struggling under a literal pile of jubilant chihuahuas, Patrick was never happier than when doing something that interested him and was of benefit to others.
In lieu of a traditional service, a private Celebration of Life is intended for Patrick in late spring/early summer 2023.

Mike, Fran, Katy Jayne and family,
I am grateful to have had 42 years of friendship with Pat and I have to thank Chip for paying such wonderful tribute to his life and the many gifts that Pat enjoyed. He did share his talents and gave freely at every opportunity. He always saw the best in others and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. I'll always miss his generous spirit, his comforting voice and that warm smile. And I'm forever grateful to God for knowing his kind heart and maintaining our friendship all our lives, ... he was definitely a gift to my mine. God comfort each of you and give you strength.
