Patsy Jean Conner

Patsy Jean Conner, 74, of Roanoke, Virginia, and formerly of Pulaski, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025. Born on August 5, 1950, in Pulaski, Patsy was a pillar of strength and resilience. From the young age of 14, she began working to help care for herself and her siblings – a true testament to her determination and deeply rooted sense of responsibility. Her work ethic never wavered, and she went on to dedicate over 20 years as the lead secretary at the Radford Arsenal, a role that perfectly reflected her driven, ambitious, and pioneering spirit.
Patsy had a vibrant personality and a passion for life. She smiled from her soul and laughed with her heart. In her 30s, she earned an associate degree in fashion, adding yet another layer to her many talents. Over the years, she enjoyed a variety of hobbies, but none brought her more joy than dancing, fishing, bowling, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children, daughter Felecia Simmons and son Kevin Simmons; five cherished grandchildren – Rashad, Daisy, Maya, Kameron, and Kristian Simmons; one precious great-grandson, Giovani Simmons; and her adored great-grandcat, Sweetness. She is also survived by her siblings, Jaqueline Pompey (Doug), Kathy Milirons (Kevin), Angela Turner, Charlotte Carrington, Dee Conner, and Harry Conner. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and laughter that will live on through them all.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Turner and Henry Conner, and a host of siblings whom she dearly loved.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, beginning at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church Fellowship (220 Magazine St., Pulaski, VA) with Reverend Doug Patterson and Reverend Vivian Simmons to officiate.
