Patsy Ann "Pat" Dozier, 86, of Zeigler, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, at 3:08 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2024, at Shawnee Senior Living in Herrin.
Pat was born on March 20, 1938, in Zeigler to William and Dorothy (Knight) Bush. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Marion E. "Sonny" Dozier on July 5, 1957, in Zeigler. They shared 66 years of marriage together, before he preceded her in death on December 14, 2023.
Pat retired as a Quality Assurance Assistant at Olin Industries in Marion. She later worked for 14 years at Snider Insurance Agency in Zeigler. Pat had also worked for the Franklin County Election Office and as a Secretary at the Bank of Zeigler.
Pat was a longtime member of the Zeigler First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her three children, Tammy (Terry) Trusty of Zeigler, Lori (Roger) Eastwood of Plumfield, and Bill (Amy) Dozier of Carterville; six grandchildren, Terah (Jason Keim) Trusty, Heather Ward, Shane (Erin) Butler, Travis (Megan) Eastwood, Jacob Dozier and Jolene Dozier; eleven great-grandchildren, Caylah, Macey, Elijah, and Lucy Keim, Gavin Jay and Ricky Joe Ward, Landen and Cruz Butler, Ryder, Rhett, Riggs Eastwood; two sisters-in-law, Mona Owsley and Florine Bush. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Dozier; parents, William and Dorothy Bush; five brothers, Ransom, Bill, and Floyd Bush and two infants, one whom was her twin; four sisters, Vera Mae Holmes, Ina Null, Leona Mieldezis and Thelma Jones.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Vantrease-Pyle Funeral Home in Zeigler with Pastor Don Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Denning Cemetery in Orient.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2024, at Vantrease-Pyle Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Zeigler. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home the day of the service.
Vantrease-Pyle Funeral Home of Zeigler is entrusted with the arrangements.
