Patsy Finley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector on May 16, 2025.
Patsy Ruth Finley, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, at the age of 87 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Born on January 11, 1938, in Vian, Oklahoma, to the late Hugh and Opal (McGlothian) Richards, Patsy's life was a testament to the strength and warmth of her spirit.

Patsy's journey through life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family and her faith. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, David Ray Finley Sr., and her cherished son, Danny Finley. Her legacy continues through her loving sons and their spouses, David Finley Jr. and Terry, Nathanael (Nat) Finley and Jennifer, as well as her adored grandchildren, Sarah, Rebecca, Reagan, Ava, and Ali. Patsy also leaves behind two brothers, who, along with the rest of her family, will miss her deeply.

Patsy's heart was truly in service to others. She was a cornerstone of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she shared her love for Jesus as a Sunday School teacher and an avid volunteer for Vacation Bible School. Her commitment to her faith was evident in every aspect of her life, and she inspired many through her actions and words.

Her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds, and she dedicated much of her time to them, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Patsy's nurturing nature extended beyond her family, as she helped raise many children by offering her babysitting services over the years. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome, and she touched the lives of countless individuals with her generosity and care.

As we bid farewell to Patsy Ruth Finley, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy of love that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. Her spirit, characterized by compassion and devotion, will forever be a guiding light for her family and the community she so dearly loved. Patsy's life was a journey of joy, service, and unwavering faith, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of walking alongside her.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Arkansas Children's Hospital.
