Rose-Neath Funeral Home - Homer ChapelA Memorial Services will be held for Patsy Jean Bunch Hood, age 80, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 East 5th Street, Homer, LA, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Randy Goudeau, officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m.
Patsy was born October 14, 1945, in Shreveport, LA, to Aubrey and Eva Lou Dupree Bunch. She entered into rest at her home surrounded by family on January 31, 2026, in Arcadia, LA. Patsy met the love of her life, Richard, when they were both attending Homer High School. Shortly after, they married and moved to Monroe where both of their daughters were born. In 1968, they moved back to Homer when Mr. Layton Hood had passed away, to help Richard’s mother run E.L. Hood & Sons clothing store. Patsy moved to Shreveport where she enjoyed working as an Administrative Assistant with Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries. She worked with young adults and eventually retired after 37 years of service. Her and her best friend bought motorcycles as they went on trips all around Louisiana and Arkansas. The first time she rode the motorcycle she wrecked it in the driveway and broke her collar bone. As she went to the hospital in the backseat of the car, she yelled out, “Don’t sell my bike. I’ll be back to get it.” Glamping was also something she loved. Patsy loved her church and church family where she prayed diligently for her family and others in need. Girl’s Day with her daughters was always a good time had by all. Patsy always kept up with her school friends and their lives throughout the years. She was close to her sisters and enjoyed spending time with them and catching up. Patsy was an avid LSU football fan and any other sport in which they were involved. Her and her fur baby, P.J., whom she spoiled immensely, were inseparable for the past ten or so years.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tana Bailey and Jerry of Arcadia and Kristi London and husband Derek of Homer; fur baby, P.J.; two grandsons, Richard Davis and wife Stacy of West Point, MS, and Matthew Anglin of Oxford, MS; one great-granddaughter, Kendal Davis; two sisters, Beverly Guidry of Raceland, LA, and Linda Bond and husband Steve of Shreveport, LA; the father of her children and had been married for 26 years, Richard Hood; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Patsy’s family would like to express their gratitude to Bristol Hospice and their staff for the care and compassion shown her.
Honorary pallbearers will be Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s office.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Patsy, her family suggests memorials be made to American Diabetes Association or donor’s choice.
