Mr. Gary Bert Caskey, age 79, was born November 24, 1945, in Haynesville, LA, to Bert and Cloys Holleman Caskey. He entered into rest on August 26, 2025, in Homer, LA. Mr. Caskey grew up in Homer and graduated from Homer High School in 1964. Then, he attended LA Tech where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. While attending Tech, Mr. Gary met the love of his life, Frances Owens, on a blind date. They married January 24, 1968. They shared a love of grandchildren, animals, and Hallmark movies. Mr. Caskey never met a stranger no matter where he was at.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Cloys Fay Holleman Caskey; wife of over 52 years, Frances Owens Caskey; and three sisters, Fay Monk Erwin, Marie Burton, and Margie Lewis.
He is survived by his two sons, Jeff Caskey and wife Piper of Homer, LA, and Brian Caskey and wife Patricia of Haynesville, LA; three grandchildren, Jenna, Katelyn, and Cannon; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Caskey’s family would like to express their gratitude to Heritage Nursing Home and Claiborne Memorial Medical Center along with their staffs for the care and compassion shown him.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mr. Caskey, his family suggests memorials be made to SPCA of Louisiana, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or donor’s choice.
