Holly Elizabeth Legendre was born in Monroe, LA, on August 16, 1993 and entered into rest on August 18, 2025 at the age of 32 in Shreveport, LA.

To know Holly was to love her. Everywhere she went, she never met a stranger and touched many lives. From an early age we noticed Holly to be artistic in nature, she loved to color and loved to sing. She wanted coloring books and colors as presents and would spend many hours learning to sing Disney songs. If Little Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast were on TV, she would act out and sing the movie until tired. She enjoyed being a part of the plays in Homer High School’s theatre department.

In Special Olympics, Holly became fond of running and enjoyed receiving a ribbon no matter the color. Once she complained to the staff that she wanted a green ribbon (5th place) instead of a white ribbon (3rd place) she had earned. When it came to Holly’s siblings and their exploits in the world of sports, Holly could be found working in the concession stand where she would be paid in M&Ms and a coke for a ‘hard’ nights work.

Holly moved with her family to New Iberia, La where she attended New Iberia Senior High doing the things she had loved at Homer High School. She was not the ‘little boss’ there as she was at Homer, but respected just the same. As a senior, Holly was selected to carry the torch for that year’s Special Olympic Games and during the Mardi Gras season was elected to ride the ‘Queen Bee’ throne float in the local parade. Holly graduated from New Iberia Senior High in May of 2015.

Holly moved with her family back to Homer in October of 2015 to help her mother look after her Mamaw who passed in February of 2019. That same month Holly became acquainted with a soon to be special person in her life, Ms. Cynthia Glass, who was hired by her parents as a personal care giver to Holly. Ms. Cynthia would soon become more than that, building a relationship with Holly, ‘Shopping until they dropped’ and adventures in the surrounding communities. For the past seven years Ms. Cynthia and Holly did many things to help build up the lives of people in Homer and Minden visiting nursing homes, shops, and making friends.

Holly also found employment as an ‘Office Assistant’ at M & M Hardware where she answered the phone and maintained information security by shredding paper. She became efficient at guiding and entertaining her boss and staff. After employer changes at M & M Hardware, Holly was able to find employment as an ‘Office Assistant’ with Crump Oil Company, LLC where she continued until her passing.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Ray and Lois Hightower, paternal grandparents Lenny Legendre, June McClure and step grandfather Roy, Uncle Kenny Hightower, Uncle Greg Hightower, and Uncle Denny Bays.

She is survived by her parents Mike and Amy Legendre (Homer), brother, Joshua and wife Drue (Bossier City), brother, Stephen and wife Callie (Homer), and sister, Allison Prickett and Jesse (Stillwater, OK), nieces and nephews, Elliott, Mary-Alice, Everhett, Emory, Aslynn, and (on the way) Elowyn and Truett, Aunt Debbie Easterling and husband R.J. (Homer), Aunt Michele Bays (Homer), Uncle Kevin Legendre and wife Melissa (Decatur, TX), Aunt Cathy Moore (Homer), Uncle  Russell Hightower (Haughton), and numerous cousins.

Pallbearers were Russell Hightower, Kevin Legendre, Dustin Bays, and John Brown.
