Graveside services were held for William “Bill” C. Rogers, age 68, at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA, on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., and Rev. Stephen Beard, officiated.
Bill was born in Homer, LA, on September 27, 1956, to Curtis and Billie McIntyre Rogers. He entered into rest on December 1, 2024, in Shreveport, LA. Bill attended and graduated from Homer High School as a proud “Fighting Pelican” in 1974. He served the country he loved in the U.S. Navy and traveled the world. Once out of the Navy, Bill worked in the automotive industry for dealerships in Charleston, SC, and also worked for Chevyland in Shreveport, where he eventually retired. He enjoyed college football and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mack and Annie Rogers; and father, Curtis McCall Rogers.
He is survived by his life-partner, Rhonda Brock of Bossier City, LA; mother, Billie McIntyre Brewer of Evergreen, LA; two sons, Russell McCall Rogers and Preston Martin Rogers; aunt, Carolyn Rogers Williams of Shreveport, LA; sister, Tammy Perkins of Shreveport, LA; brother, Kenny Brewer and wife Susan of Minden, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bill’s family would like to express their gratitude to the Bossier Fire Department and Emergency Room Staff at Christus Bossier Emergency Hospital and Christus Highland of Shreveport for the care and compassion shown him.
In lieu of flowers honoring Bill, his family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Research Children’s Hospital.
