Julia McPherson Cummings July 21, 1938 – October 13, 2025
Julia McPherson Cummings, 87, of Longview, Texas, passed away on October 13, 2025. She was born on July 21, 1938, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to Dr. William G. McPherson and Edna McPherson.
Julia graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City and later earned her Certification of Employee Benefits Specialist from Southern Methodist University in 1988. She dedicated 27 years of service to AEP/SWEPCO, where she worked as a Benefits Administrator from 1967 until her retirement in 1994.
Throughout her life, Julia remained active in her community and professional circles. She served as President of the AEP/SWEPCO Retiree Association and President of the Republican Women of Bossier City, Louisiana.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. William G. McPherson and Edna McPherson; her sister, Linda Byrd; and her sons, Scott and David Kinney.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth E. Cummings; her children, Cindy Connert and husband Allen, Kenneth Cummings II and wife Lori, and Robin Ashworth and husband Dustin.
Julia’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Benjamin Brownlee and wife Kathy (children Brooke and Beau), Ally Willborn (son Jackson), Jonathan Foss and wife Sarah (children Eva and Logan), and Ashley DeRon and husband Nathan (children Emery and Austin).
Julia will be remembered for her warmth, intellect, faith, and devotion to her family. Her kindness and love touched everyone who knew her.
