Patsy R. McCoy

Patsy Ruth McCoy, 79, of Macedonia, SC, a former security officer at Santee Cooper, died Monday morning in a North Charleston hospital.
Her funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday morning, February 18, 2023, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday evening.
Mrs. McCoy was born April 17, 1943, a daughter of John Stephens and Ruth Davis Stephens. She attended Oak Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church, and was a member of the Morningstar Chapter 121 OES. In addition to her work at Santee Cooper, she was also a former beautician and a tour bus driver enabling her to travel to many places. In her spare time, Mrs. McCoy enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, and dining out, but she especially loved going to "Guy and Tina's Bluegrass Pickin Parlor" and listening to her husband play. Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Anne Wilkerson.
Surviving are her husband, John E. McCoy; two daughters, Janice C. Welch and her husband, Michael, of Macedonia, and Juanita L. Clark of Bonneau; a son, Wendell L. Casselman of Macedonia; a step son, James A. McCoy and his wife, Deana, of Wallingford, KY; three sisters, Myrtle Casselman of St. Stephen, Joyce Wilkerson of Douglas, GA, and Linda Staggs of Winter Garden, FL; a brother, Donald Ray Stephens of Willacoochee, GA; seven grandchildren, Miranda Wilkerson Leese, Cody Welch, Brian Welch, A.J. Clark, Chelsie Barber, Haley Martin Whaley, and Brandon Martin; and nine great grandchildren.
