Patsy Ruth Ramsey age 92, of Abingdon, Virginia, formerly of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 in an Abingdon, Virginia hospital.
She was born in Russell County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Graham "Bob" Fields and Pallace Hess Fields.
She had made her home in the Abingdon area for the past 21 years. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew and loved her. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Ramsey; special daughter, Tonya Denise Ramsey; sister, Virginia Dare Fields; brothers, Toby Leonard Fields and Roger Lee Fields; grandchildren, Heather Dawn Ramsey, Revonda Ruth Cottrell, and Brian Todd Collins; and great grandchild, Logan Miller.

Johnnie Ruth Pope and husband, Don of Harlan, Kentucky
Cathy Alice Ratliffe of Abingdon, Virginia
Marietta Mercer and husband, Eddie of Abingdon, Virginia
Son: Michael Thomas Ramsey of Abingdon, Virginia
Ten Grandchildren and Twenty-Three Great Grandchildren, and Twenty Great-Great Grandchildren
Special nephew: David Epperly
A very special friend who called her "Mommy Ramey" and loved her from the bottom of her heart: Loretta Hall.
Funeral services for Patsy Ruth Ramsey will be conducted Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 1pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Pastor Nick Shortridge, Pastor Jason Nunley, and Pastor Tommy Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Zac Crosswhite, Mason Shortridge, Tyler Mercer, Noah Mercer, Trevor Taylor, Chris Shumate, and KR Salyers. Friends may visit with the family from 11am from 1pm Saturday prior to the service. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia is in charge of arrangements and those wishing to express sympathy online may do so at www.hurstscottfuneralhomes.com
