Patsy “LaVerne” Seale, age 90 of Dayton passed peacefully Thursday, June 13, 2024. She was born June 13, 1934 in Booneville, Kentucky to the late Randolph and Opal Brewer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Harold F. Seale; son, David Seale; grandson, Steven D. Cooper II; and sister, Jean Margrave.
LaVerne is survived by her daughter, Janice Cooper; granddaughter, Lindsay (Jerry) Ziegler; three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Libby, Jocelyn; and brother, Lowell (Sherri) Brewer.
She graduated from Owsley County High School and retired after 25 years from JCPenney where she worked in the accounting office. LaVerne is known for her expert grandmother skills and her delicious cooking. She was a math wiz and enjoyed completing the New York Times crossword puzzles, engaging in political debates, and spending time in her garden. She is greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Memorial Gathering will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439). Celebration of Life will be officiated by Pastor Doug Surber at 3:00 pm following the gathering.
