Patsy Jo Smith

Patsy Jo Smith, born on October 10, 1948, in Hobbs, New Mexico, was the daughter of Willie and Alla Mae Wilson. After the untimely passing of her parents when she was young, she was raised by her Aunt Johnnie in Hobbs.
Patsy's career took her across the country as a telephone operator for AT&T for 35 years. She found immense joy and fulfillment in her work.
She was blessed with two children, Shannon and Brent. Shannon, in turn, blessed Patsy with a grandson named Shawn. Shannon, Brent, and Shawn held a special place in her heart.
In 2001, Patsy relocated to Oklahoma, bringing Shannon and Shawn back into her life to keep them close and protect them. Tragically, Shannon passed away in 2006, and Patsy made the difficult decision to adopt Shawn to raise him.
On September 19, 2025, as Shawn sat and held her hand, Patsy peacefully joined her beloved daughter, Shannon; her cherished dog, Chico; her best friend and brother, Davis; other brothers, Bill, Tommy and Vernon; sisters, Betty and Helen; and her parents, Willie and Alla Mae. Patsy is survived by her long-time husband, Matt Smith; son, Brent Smith; and grandson, Shawn Smith.
Patsy was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and a devoted fan of fast cars and music of all genres. As she reunited with Shannon, it's believed that they embarked on a journey to find Ozzy Osbourne to witness his legendary concert performance.
