Patsy Kay Southard

Ms. Patsy Kay Southard, 78, of Elkin, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, February 13, 2026. Born May 14, 1947, in Surry County to the late Alfred and Lucille Dockery Southard. Patsy was a faithful member of Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church. A loving sister, aunt, and great aunt, Patsy will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory is her brother and sisters-in-law, Rufus Southard and Shirley, and Betty Southard; nephews, Chris Southard, Marty Southard and Shannon, Steven Southard and Sally, and Shane Southard; great nephew, Adam Southard; and great nieces, Hope Southard, Katelyn Southard, Sarah Southard, and Bailey Southard. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Southard, and Michael Southard. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will be held after the visitation at 11:00 AM at Bessie’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Burton and Rev. Ralph Groce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
