Patti Lovejoy

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Grandmommie, aunt and friend after a brief bout with cancer. Patti, 87, was an only child born in Frederick, OK to Samuel and Pauline Andrews. She attended all of her school years in Frederick. Throughout her childhood she loved riding her horse, Trigger, running around with her many friends and attending church activities. While beginning her college career at OU she realized her love was not there but actually back at home with her soon to be husband and farmer, Roy Lovejoy. They married after her first semester, lived on the farm southwest of Tipton, OK, where she realized her calling was to be a wife and mother. Together they had 3 children, Ronnie, Suzanne and Lori. She so enjoyed being a stay-at-home wife and mother, always there for her family. Cooking was one of her all-time favorite things to do and indulging her family, especially her grandsons and local hunters with her fabulous meals was her specialty. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandkids, play cards, travel and fill her walls with the many cross stitch, needlepoint and crewel masterpieces she so lovingly made. Roy and Patti moved to Edmond in 2001 to be closer to Lori and her boys. She enjoyed being a 3rd generation PEO and was currently a member of Chapter FH in Edmond and was also a member of Waterloo Road Baptist Church. She also loved her First Baptist Church in Tipton. The many sweet friendships they made in these churches were so important to both of them.
Patti and Roy experienced some heavy tragedies in their lifetimes, losing their daughter, Suzanne in an automobile accident in 1974 at the age of 13. Then in 2010 they lost their only son, Ronnie to another early tragedy. Patti relied on her strong faith and lived by Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Sam and Pauline Andrews, her husband, Roy, her daughter, Suzanne, and her son, Ronnie along with many other special relatives and friends. What a wonderful homecoming she must have had! She leaves her daughter, Lori Lovejoy Lee (Preston), grandsons Andrew Smith (Kayla), Alex Smith (Mary), Sam Smith (Adriana) and great grandchildren Evelyn, Jeannette, Bex and Charlotte Smith along with many special family and friends.
Services will be at First Baptist Church in Tipton on Friday, March 14 at 2:00pm under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Frederick cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to First Baptist Church in Tipton.
