Patti is survived and missed by her son Dustin Whitfield and his wife Jen from North Carolina, and her daughter Carrie Cooper from Leavenworth, KS., and her sisters Sharon (Tom) Stoffers of Tonganoxie, KS and Sandy (Moe) Henley of Lawrence, KS. Patti had 11 grandchildren, Maddie May, lil Lizzie, she adopted their sisters Chloe and Riley, all of North Carolina, then Chugs, Millie, Cordelia Elaine, Mista Wesley, sweet Luna, and recent addition of Elsa, all of Kansas. All will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Dorothy Schrimscher and her oldest sister Carolyn Sprinkle.
A celebration of Patti's life will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, Kansas. This will be followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM, also at the funeral home. We invite you to join us in remembering Patti's vibrant life and sharing cherished memories.
Patti lived hard, played hard, and loved hard. For her, there was no other way. As a free spirit, she started road trips across the states shortly after graduation and went on her last one a couple of weeks before she left us. She was a gypsy at heart. Her adventurous life touched many and if you knew her, you couldn't help but love her. She never knew a stranger. It was peace and love that drove her. She loved someone to play guitar so she could sing. We ask that you remember that she lived her life the way she wanted and that she had a great ride. We will miss Patti dearly. Her warmth, kindness, and generosity will remain in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made in Patti's name to support pancreatic cancer research. Your generosity will help further vital research efforts and contribute to finding a cure for this devastating disease. Details on how to make a donation will be available at the service.
